Virus, malware and spyware OH MY!
I hate this stuff as much as you do. There are a lot of softwares out there that boast
how great they are in keeping this garbage off your system, but the truth is that many
of of them will fail in one form or another. Some of these softwares actually do a great
job in protecting your system but hog computer resources to a point that your computer
seems unusable.
Experience teaches us that we need to review at least on an annual basis in making
changes to what we have trusted in the past. Working on hundreds if not thousands of systems gives great insight
on what seems to work best at the moment. The choices can be confusing for many of us and asking help of a
professional that works in the field can save us from a lot of grief later on. If you have recently purchased a new
computer system, do not automatically trust in the software the manufacturer has installed. They often have a
financial vested interest in the trial software placed on your computer. Don’t be afraid to do a little homework in
finding out what is working great. If you feel you need help in getting your new system cleaned up and ready for
prime time, give me a call to set up an appointment or drop off.
Computer parts wear out, become outdated or computer habits demand that the
machine goes faster. Software that is updated from Microsoft to just about any other
vendor out there gets larger in file size and demands more of our computers. Upgrades are
a cost effective way to go if the system is not too old. If your computer is five years or older
then replacing the whole system might be a wiser way to go. When we see our computers
substantially slow down, the first thing we should address is virus, malware or spyware.
After declaring that this is not the issue, we must look at hardware. Getting professional
help to upgrade or replace can save you a lot of frustration in dealing with a slow machine.
Give me a call and lets get together to see what is best in getting you up to speed.
For those of you wanting to see a real speed difference in your current system, might I
suggest looking at solid state hard drives. These new drives can take a slow system
and most often turn them into a computer you’ve always wanted for both desktop and
laptop systems. You have to experience the difference to believe it.
